About Us / Contact

New York is a city so diverse in its art that it itself is nothing less than a masterpiece. Yet, only one art alone has the ability to sate both physical and spiritual – that is, the culinary.

Eat Big Apple is a site dedicated to exploring the eateries of New York, to celebrate the facet of human culture that both defines differences and demonstrates fundamental semblance. In the City, palettes are attracted to dishes foreign and familiar, traditional and fusion, simple and decadent.

Eat Big Apple is originally a book by Ms. Lisa Cheng, a writer for the World Journal. With a circulation of half a million readers, the World Journal ran a column that featured Ms. Cheng’s restaurant reviews for 7 years with rave reviews and a devoted following.

With that said, food in the City is among the most fast-paced. It strives to be as exciting as exotic travel, as cutting edge as technology, as pleasing to the senses as nature, and as beautiful to look at as Balenciaga. It is Eat Big Apple’s goal to keep up with it and introduce the new and the old flavors of New York to all who wish to taste them.

The Team

When not reading texts, reading menus. Jessie Hsia - Writer.Tell me what you eat and I’ll tell you what you are.

That was the quote that began every episode of the original Iron Chef. I was seven when I was addicted to the shiny costumes and sinfully appetizing food on the screen. Ever since then, I’ve never stopped finding myself in sauces, greens, and proteins. In the same way people should always keep an open mind, always keep an open palette.

Chow on.

ebac C.S. Hsia – Writer, Photographer, WebmasterI’m not a great writer, nor am I a competent web developer. My skills behind the camera barely scratches what these machines are capable of. Yet I truly appreciate food in its taste, presentation, and the entire experience.

A good dining experience is truly special. You will remember for years where you parked, what you wore, where you sat, what you ordered. I’ve enjoyed some brilliant evenings of culinary delight, and it’s my goal to convince everyone to experience it for themselves.
