Six months young, Little Fox cafe is still in a period of self definition. Coveted wifi rich seats are few, standing-room only after just a baker’s dozen. Not limited by such constraints, this little fox searches for the trajectory of its maturity–offering beers, espresso sea salt cookies, Friday night parties (DJ in attendance), and perhaps soon a gallery space.
There is beer! Declares the small sign out on the steps. A selection of Modelo, Blue Moon and Coors. This too may change I am told, replaced by craft brews more befitting the scene. What’s more, there are coffees by D’Amico, teas by the Teaologist and pastries by Ceci Cela.
From the pastries, the sandwiches, each named in vulpine tradition.. The reigning favorite with the folks behind the bar appeared to be the Artic Fox, though with mention of Jamaican peppers, I had no choice but to go with Red. With coppola and mozzarella to pair, the Red Fox did not disappoint. Although, with the weather, I do think a lighter avocado-laden Artic Fox would have served more nicely.
I had a weather appropriate iced mocha in hand, however, if I had done more research, I could have picked up something even more special between the hours of 9am and 1pm on Wednesdays. A latte artist with portrait “painting” skills evidently swings by during that time, and magics your likeness onto your favorite foam drink. Stay tuned for a photo of me when I can get out of work.
The cafe will be unveiling another sandwich next week, having only just updated its menu just a few days before. I will be sure to return for its croissant grilled cheese, the gallery (under consideration and potential construction)…and the new craft beers.
